Data Infrastructure Architect

In this role as a Data Infrastructure Architect, you will be responsible for refining and executing on our data infrastructure strategy covering disaster recovery (DR), high availability (HA), fault tolerance (FT), backup/archive, and ransomware/malware protection schemes. A successful candidate would work closely with Development, Security, Support, Operations, and Business Continuity teams to deliver on strategy and project components. Further, this individual would assure compliance with relevant standards, help adopt industry best practices, review tools and technologies as part of selection processes, and interact with customers of our SaaS platform to convey and justify our plans.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and implement policies and procedures for infrastructure resilience
  • Build, review, and ratify an overall data protection strategy, both internally and externally
  • Evaluate technologies, tools, and vendor offerings that are relevant to our strategy, and assist in the selection process for target solutions
  • Oversee execution around data protection projects in accordance with our strategy and plans
  • Develop, document, and implement policies and procedures for infrastructure resilience
  • Coordinate across the Architecture, Information Security, Application Development, Service, and Operations teams to produce complete and optimal designs
  • Work with the Business Continuity team to understand and assure recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) for critical business systems
  • Support disaster recovery planning and test/validation through established processes
  • Conduct tests proving HA and DR plans with Operations and Support teams
  • Work with teams to maintain test and process documentation for tracking reporting
  • Identify root causes of recovery issues and work with technical teams to drive resolution


  • B.S. degree preferred and/or AWS, Azure, and other relevant technical certifications
  • Experience with disaster recovery and backup technologies (Zerto, Veeam, Carbonite, or Commvault)
  • Knowledge of VMware, including vCloud and vSphere
  • Knowledge of F5 load balancers, advanced firewalls, and reverse proxies (Check Point, Palo Alto, NGINX)
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex technical problems when information is limited
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate including written skills; provide clear and timely written and verbal updates (including technical details)
  • Ability to lead discussions with customers to achieve win/win results
  • Perform various troubleshooting methods to track down complex technical problems
