Yext search tracking technology

When a user enters the search experience on the homepage, the Search JS Library tags the user with a Session ID.

Below are the available data points associated with a Session ID:

  • Location (via IP lookup/city-level accuracy)
  • Date/Time
  • User agent
  • Search text
  • Results returned
  • Engagement metrics

Search click tracking allows every click within your search experience to fire an event containing information about the particular action a user has taken. This event information is sent to the Yext platform where it is logged with all other search analytics metrics.
